Historic Immigrant-Owned Businesses of Downtown Grand Island

Grand Island has a deep history of being a home to immigrants from diverse backgrounds. Below is a map created by Stuhr Museum that showcases the history of just a few of the many businesses that have been owned by immigrants in downtown Grand Island. Click the orange dots to learn about a historic immigrant-owned business that existed at that location!

The text of each dot can be translated to a different language by clicking the book icon on the upper right of the text box. Then click the book icon in the upper right of the screen, select your preferred language in the drop-down box, and click the circular switch next to "Document." Close the side pane by clicking the "X" in the top right corner. Text can also be read aloud by clicking the triangle in the bottom center of the screen.
